In 1995, work was carried out to improve the seismic resistance of a 9-storey residential building of the 111 series at Isaakian 4 in Vanadzor by building an upper isolated floor, and in 1997 another improved version of the same method was applied to the Cherkas 1 residential building in the Bazum district of Vanadzor. In 1996, the seismic resistance of a five-storey stone residential building of the 450 series at 149 Yerevanyan Street in Vanadzor was increased by installing metal rubber inserts in the foundation part, what happened without evicting the residents? In 2004, the building of school No. 4 in Vanadzor was strengthened in the same way by order of the Swiss company Caritas. These three methods of strengthening and increasing seismic resistance were implemented for the first time in the world in the city of Vanadzor of the Republic of Armenia and were highly appreciated by the Ministry of Urban Planning and well-known foreign national experts in the field of science.
